For an added challenge, perform these drills wearing Jumpsoles. Basketball Jumping Drills 1. Backboard Touches. Jump up and try to touch the backboard or rim. (If you can't, don't worry about it. Just jump as high as you can.) Jump 8 times in a row repeatedly without stopping in between. Once you land on both feet, explode back up immediately.
How the Drill Works: Place 23 cones at the baseline of one end of the floor and split the players up into two teams at the other end of the floor. Players shoot and are ‘rewarded’ by being allowed to go to the other end of the court and have a chance at collecting a cone if they make another shot.
Performing the drill: The drill starts with a player in the corner with their hands & feet ready to shoot. They will take their first shot off of a catch-and-shoot in the corner. The next shot is a 1-dribble pull-up from the corner. This can be executed off of a shot-fake or off of a catch & quick dribble pull-up.
Bunny Shooting Drill. Purpose. This drill focuses on coming to a stop under control, and staying balanced through the jump shot. How it Works. Starting on the right wing, take one dribble towards the hoop. Come to a jump stop at about 10-12 feet. Pull up and hit the bank shot. Secure your rebound, sprint out to the wing, and repeat.
